Barclay Sales Center – Penthouse Stairs
Method Design worked with it’s furniture and casework division-Artisans + Company, to develop pieces for luxury The $59 million penthouse located on 100 Barclay, originally the headquarters for New York Telephone Company in 1920s, is 14,500-square-feet, and spans both the 32nd and 33rd floors. The luxury residences inside One Hundred Barclay have been under redevelopment when Magnum Real Estate hired Method Design to create stairs inside the great room measuring 96 feet by 33 feet leading up to the second level in the living room. The design engages the visitor with the different elements of the space. The elegant curve of the stair provides for a choreographed ascent that offers a full range of views taking advantage of the grand 20’ windows around the parameter. It raises the visitor off the ground before providing an array of views tangential to the path being taken.
